Fresh from T4D’s laboratory, after 1+ years of planning and painful preparations, here comes the pilot project of HopeTown in Los Angeles, California. HopeTown started as a daring concept aimed at tackling the root causes of the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles. Homelessness disproportionately affects women and teenage girls released from a dysfunctional foster care system that provides no safety nets or long-term options.
HopeTown will provide 20 women and teenage girls (18+) with long- and short-term housing, safety, access to income generating activities, specialized health care services and in general, social and economic (re-)integration.
We’re now passing on to the next stage of this project – we’ll keep you posted!
